“I really look forward to wearing a cape and jumping off the ropes!” enthused  Division Director Kelly Muttlemeier.  “I’ve really been practicing my non-verbal skills and this will be an outstanding showcase for my talents!”

Recruiting members from across the District has proven even more difficult than other recruitment challenges; some divisions may go uncontested. Program Quality Director and Folding Chair Coach Ed Thelen has begun encouraging Youth Leadership Programs in an attempt to field a JV team.

April has been named
Keith Cumiskey Month
by Ozaukee County, Governor Walker and both branches of Congress
District Director Keith Cumiskey has earned his very own month by wildly unified decree; bipartisan efforts are unprecedented.  Local, state and national legislation has been implemented to minimize truck traffic on any road within 10 miles of Cumiskey’s biking or running route, and multiple sites in southeastern Wisconsin — including microbreweries and bike shops — have stepped up to spread the celebration of Cumiskey Month, April 2018, among denizens of the region.
The first day, April 1, involves a lot of cake, because of its significance.
“Wow.  This is pretty neat,” said the exemplary Toastmaster.

Newest Path to involve Motivation by Food,
Leadership by Brownie Bribery
Earlier indicators for new Pathways options included Humor and an additional Leadership Path, but in a surprise announcement, World Headquarters acknowledged the superlative powers of food to motivate members and officers alike, even outside Toastmasters.  This acknowledgement was swiftly followed by a path consisting entirely of food preparation, display and cleanup at multiple types of gatherings and events including TLIs, club open houses and District Executive Council meetings.  No word from District leadership if this would lead to a round of contests for food procurement in league with speech contests.  Early entries were documented by Area Director Jennifer Zhang:

District 35 leads the way with new membership opportunities!

As part of Toastmasters International growth goals, District 35 has been chosen to initiate a new growth opportunity: domestic and wild animals.  A poll of International Directors confirmed that Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula have the most communicative good animals anywhere, and the leadership possibilities are unprecedented because THEY ARE SO GOOD.  To encourage full immersion in the Toastmasters experience, area contests have already been completed.  Congratulations to all winners! We look forward to Division contests later this month!

Chief is clearly on a leadership track; he stepped away from the winner photo shoot to express his opinion about speech title length policies.

thank you and happy April Fools day.  There’s only one real fact on this page, and it’s that Keith is entitled to cake today.   Thank you Drake, Tim, Laurie, Nancy, Jennifer and Kelly. Division 35 is amazing
