March is traditionally a month of challenges — not just the weather or new road construction, but club officer elections are around the corner, and two membership drives encourage us to bring more people into Toastmasters to develop skills and confidence!

Now is the time to get started on both these opportunities!  If an officer is traveling or on vacation, it’s a great time to encourage another member to try out that office, or help them choose a project from your Club Success Plan to start thinking more about club support.

Have conversations about member goals and how officer duties overlap.  Encourage officers to share their duties in a quick three-to-five minute speech — take turns over a couple months. Don’t forget:  Officers are expected to attend twice-annual Leadership Institutes.

Bringing in new members means sharing Toastmasters education and networking, and it also means current members have the opportunity to mentor and lead.  Some ways to bring new members in include

  • Use old school posters or social media like Meetup or Eventbrite for publicity
  • Hold a membership drive and the current member with the most guests or new members wins something cool
  • Hold an open house either on your own or with other clubs in your area to maximize convenience for new members
  • Brownie Membership Drive:  If you bring in a guest, you and the guest both get a homemade, fudgy brownie.  If you don’t bring a guest you don’t get a brownie!

Here’s to a springtime of GROWTH!

District 212: Preparing for July

We are officially in the planning stages for the creation of our new District 212, and over the next several months you’ll see increasing communication, updates, and opportunities to get involved.

District 212 will bring together members from four legacy districts—19, 30, 35, and 54—to form a stronger, more collaborative, and better-supported district. The Transition Team is now being assembled, and their work will help ensure we enter the 2026–2027 program year fully prepared with consistent processes, effective systems, and a united culture.

Updates, announcements, and resources will be posted regularly on the District 212 website.
